Vacation days for Workers
On December 27, 2022, the decree that reforms articles 76 and 78 of the Federal Labor Law, regarding vacation days to which workers are entitled, was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
Article 76 states that workers with one year of service will be entitled to a minimum of 12 days of vacation, which will increase by two days until reaching twenty, for each subsequent year. As of the sixth year of service, the vacation period will increase by two days for every five years of service.
Article 78 regulates the way in which the worker can enjoy the vacation period and states that the worker will have the right to enjoy twelve days of vacation continuously, however, the worker can agree with the employer to distribute the vacation period under another modality.
